Calling All Interior Design Schools / Students!!!
The 2017 Awards Gala Committee is reaching out to see who would like to be involved with this year’s ASID Design Excellence Awards Gala! We have created a competition for interior design students to be involved in, as a way to contribute to the celebration & gain recognition for your creativity.
Competition:
ASID Design Awards Gala Photography Backdrop
Area of Use:
The backdrops will be where all photographs will be taken as guests walk into the event — just like a Red Carpet event — AND also where all the professional photographs will be taken of the winning recipient(s) with their award.
Guidelines:
These are minimal on purpose. We want you to really think about this and not limit your design. We just have a few guidelines and the rest is up to you.
1 Minimum size of 6’8’ and Maximum size of 10’x8’
2 Teams are required to use material from manufacturer reps and/or other materials. You will need to reach out to manufacturer reps directly for materials to be donated. This also is a good learning experience as you will be working with manufacturing reps daily when out of school.
3 Select materials at your discretion as it fits your overall design.
4 Backdrop needs to be free-standing and sturdy.
5 BE CREATIVE! This is a challenge to see how you can come up with a concept, overall design, and building it.
6 Your team will need to deliver the backdrop to the venue on the day of the event. Teams are responsible for removing their backdrop at end of event.
Winning School:
Winning School will be announced at the Design Excellence Awards Gala Ceremony. Each member of the winning team will receive a cash prize!
