What made you decide to pursue an Interior Design career?
When I was about nine years old my parents remodeled their kitchen. The contractor was so kind and let me watch pretty closely. He even purchased a set of colored pencils and drawing pad for me. He could tell I was in total awe of the transformation happening in our home. Ever since then, I’ve really enjoyed seeing old and tired spaces become refreshed and alive again.
What type of design are you passionate about?
We spend so much time at work these days. I’m passionate about making the workplace environment inspiring and inviting.
What do you love about design?
Our environment can have such an impact on our experiences. It can affect our mood, buying habits, eating habits and more. Your environment holds more power than one might think, which is why I’m passionate about interior design.
How has being a member of ASID helped you in your career?
Being a member of ASID has helped me to stay connected to industry news and events.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
My husband Nick and I enjoy hiking with our Bluetick Coonhound, Ella, especially in the fall months. I’m no stranger to DYI manual labor. Last year, we built a “She Shed” in our backyard. I also enjoy sewing clothing, among other things.
