What made you decide to pursue an Interior Design career?
I found my love for traveling and appreciating beauty in nature as well as buildings at a very early age. As I grew older, my love for design got stronger. I was perceiving spaces as abundance of opportunities for transformation. It was interesting to me that more than 87 percent of people’s lives are spent indoors and thought it would be a perfect opportunity to follow my dream to shape that 87 percent. I pursued my bachelor’s in interior architecture from CEPT, India and then master’s in interior design from Savanah College of Art and Design. .
What type of design are you passionate about?
I enjoy creating a beautiful solution for every design challenge; however, hospitality design is my passion. It satisfies my desire to create an experience and make memories for guests away from their homes. I am passionate about creating spaces that are streamlined, curated and feel effortlessly beautiful.
What do you love about design?
Design is inspirational and is everywhere, your mind never stops creating. To wake up in the morning and know that you’re going to have the opportunity to improve the world around you through design is an amazing gift. Generating something unique and solving people’s problem is intoxicating and incredibly rewarding.
How has being a member of ASID helped you in your career?
It has helped me connect and be surrounded by a deeply passionate, supportive community of like-minded people. I appreciate that ASID promotes the value of interior design and works to advance the profession as a whole.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
In my free time I enjoy traveling and spending time with my family.
