Margaret Nedow, NCIDQ, ASID
Margaret is an interior designer at La Macchia Group in Milwaukee’s 3rd Ward, specializing in financial institutions and operations center design throughout the United States. Prior to La Macchia Group, she was a Senior Interior Designer at M&M Office Interiors and focused on furniture specification and office planning and design. She graduated in 2011 from the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point CIDA-Accredited Interior Architecture program, with a Bachelor of Arts and a Minor in Music. Celebratorily, she recently passed the NCIDQ exam, so she is now CIDQ certified and a Wisconsin Registered Interior Designer!
She is also a founding and current board member of the non-profit, First Generation Professionals of Milwaukee. The aim of their non-profit is to be a free platform for mentorship connections and provide valuable insight, advice, and guidance to young professionals in the Milwaukee Area through their events, recorded interviews with community leaders, and purposeful articles. Additionally, they are working on a storefront initiative for members of the organization, which will provide refreshes and new designs for storefronts and signage; offering an added chance of success for both the owner and the community they impact.
ASID WI has been a part of her professional career since her college days, after which she assisted in the startup of the Emerging Professionals Committee. She also chaired the Sponsorship Compliance Committee several times, in addition to various other volunteering opportunities through the years. She received the 2014 Volunteer of the Year Award, as well as, the 2014 Top 5 Under 5 award, and continues to give back through participation in the DEI Committee, and through the Designing for a Difference Project.
In her personal time, she enjoys refereeing rugby now that she’s retired; following a 12-year career in the sport, where she earned a National Championship with the Milwaukee Scylla in 2017, and a spot on the Midwest Thunderbird’s Team in 2019. She also enjoys gardening, woodworking, and spending time with her cat, Stan.
