Our January Member Spotlight is on Verna M. Shavlik ASID, WRID, NCIDQ! Verna has been in the interior design industry for over 30 years and currently works for Creative Business Interiors.

What made you decide to pursue an Interior Design career?

The field of Interior Design offers a balance to my technical and creative sides while allowing me to have a connection with people to improve the environment in which they function.

What type of design are you passionate about?

I am a design thinker, so any type of design in the Commercial arena is my passion. I truly enjoy helping people understand the importance of design and the benefits of good design.

What do you love about design?

Working with others to improve the function and flow of spaces as well providing an environment that inspires all.

How has being a member of ASID helped you in your career?

ASID helps me connect with others who share my passion for design. It also assists in my ongoing education on a variety of topics and supports my commitment to the Profession of Design.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I enjoy gardening, reading and repurposing furniture.
